The 2013 Billboard Music Awards are just around the corner and the event is loaded with celebrities set to perform and present at the highly anticipated award ceremony. Currently, names including Cee-Lo Green, Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Kelly Rowland, Hayden Panettiere, Kid Rock,Chloe Grace Moretz, Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha, Carly Rae Jepsen, Alyssa Milano, Jenny McCarthy, Emmy Rossum, Stana Katic, Gabriel Mann, Jennifer Nettles, PSY, Sky Blu, Jennifer Morrison, Florida Georgia Line, Wiz Khalifa, Alanis Morisette and more are confirmed to present the coveted awards at the live event.
This year’s event will also feature recording legend Prince who will be on hand to perform and accept the Billboard Icon Award, which pays tribute to his unique journey and history of accomplishments in the music industry. Madonna will also take the stage to accept the Top Touring Artist award, honoring the highest-grossing concert touring act of the year.
The award finalists for the ceremony were based on fan interactions with music, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, touring, streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, VEVO, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music. These measurements were tracked year-round by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Entertainment and Next Big Sound. The awards are based on the reporting period of March 12, 2012 through March 10, 2013.
The 2013 Billboard Music Awards show will air live from Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena SUNDAY, MAY 19 (8:00–11:00 pm, ET) on the ABC Television Network, sponsored by Chevrolet, Las Vegas, Samsung Galaxy S® 4 and Buffalo David Bitton, and executive produced by Don Mischer.
